We have a great course set up and it looks to be some fine racing for Saturday. This is a challenging race course and skiing area. We have one of the premiere skiing areas in the state so take advantage of a great trail system, good competition and the chance to support your local ski team. You'll find the maps for the courses below. The 20 km and 10 km races follow the same course. The 10 km is one loop while the 20 km will take two loops around the course.
The kid's races start together through the first 1 km. While the 1 km racers finish their race, the 2 km course continues up the hill and around the Prairie Loop and then to the finish.
The course does have some slight changes from last year so check out the map or ask a volunteer at the course and they'll show you a map. Some highlights:
Change 1: We are starting you out backwards on the Prairie Loop, this will allow a little more space for you to spread out before heading out on to the back section on the other side of the grade. You'll loop around the Prairie Loop and then head out as normal.
Change 2: The new loop on the course "Stony Rollers" is open and excellent so we've added that just past the peak of "Top of the World". It is a 0.9 km loop that we think you'll love!
Change 3: With the addition of the Prairie Loop and Stony Rollers we have decided to cut off Wash Pond Flats this year. Without that loop we are right at 10.1 km and we'll stick with that for this year.
The regular winter and summer trail maps are also linked so if you are looking for further training on other days...enjoy!
We are excited!!
