The banquet date is set!!  Monday, March 21st at 6:00pm.  We’ll try setting things up around 5:30 so we can begin right away at 6:00 with dinner and have a nice presentation.  We know school is on Tuesday and the skiers have homework so we’ll try to keep things moving along.

The captain’s parents will be contacting you with details for food and everything – we do a potluck banquet so each family will be needed to bring something to share.  Thanks in advance!

Congratulations to all of our racers today!! We had a wonderful day of racing in some very comfortable temps. The snow became a little soft in the later races but course was challenging and fun. We had several skiers earning hardware and many others earning ribbons and placing well. It was wonderful to finally have our skiers racing against their own grade levels and ages. We should hopefully have overall results to post later tonight or tomorrow. You could also check SkinnySki.com because they should have results up also.

A huge thank you to all the parents that were able to come down today and cheer on our athletes!  We had a great experience and we appreciated all your support.  We also would like to send a thank you out to the Burnsville Olive Garden – they were able to seat all 75 + of us right away and feed us and get us back on the road pretty quickly.  Thanks for a great season team!  We’ll have a meeting the week of February 21st (the week after state) to turn in uniforms, clean out the wax room and vote for team awards.  Check back late next week or listen to the announcements.

This coming Tuesday we’ll be heading up to Biwabik once again to race in the Coaches Association State Relays and to have our three qualifiers: Mitch, Nicole and Jane ski in the State Meet.  The relays will be on Wednesday and the State Meet will be on Thursday.  If you see them between now and then, send them off with your best.  Relay and State skiers – we’ll get you additional details on Monday including cost and any needed items.  We will be leaving Tuesday afterschool so you’ll need to bring everything with you on Tuesday morning.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Huge Congratulations to the Boys and Girls Section Teams – there was some great racing going on today and the skiers were fantastic! A special congrats to Mitch N., Nicole T., and Jane K. – all three qualified for state and will be competing at the State Meet next Thursday up in Biwabik, MN. Both the boys and girls teams placed fourth overall against some strong competition, it was a great day. The girls team made a strong push for second place and finished just five points back, very exciting!! We are so impressed with all of you – well done!

Parents – thank you so much for your support today! It was wonderful to have so many of you up there cheering for all our skiers. Thank you also for providing a wonderful lunch and snacks for all the skiers (and supports!!). Thank you!! Thank you’s also go out to our wax techs that were on hand as always – you do great work and our skiers were able to show off your skills – Thank you!!

The rest of this week: tomorrow will be picture day – bring your uniform! Practice will start at 3:30 (with the middle school) and finish up at 4:30. We’ll get pictures done during practice. JV skiers – you can wax your skis before practice tomorrow – it is looking like it will be pretty warm on Saturday so we’ll be looking at a softer wax. You can wax after practice if needed also. Saturday – bus loads at 7:00am, be there a little early. It is a skate race, 5km at Kenwood Trail’s Middle School in Lakeville, MN. There are two schedules that are being passed around…here they are so you can know what might be going on, we should hopefully know by tomorrow which is correct.
